The UL label has an identification number (numbers and letters) that is unique to the manufacturer. The UL website can be searched to find the name of the manufacturer of the product.
Here are the steps, in logical order.
Copy down the number from the label.
1. Go to https://productiq.ulprospector.com/en
(Searching using the “abridged site” will give you enough information without needing to subscribe)
2. Enter the label number and click search.
3. If the purpose of your search was to identify the manufacturer, then this screen tells you what you need to know. If you want more details, click one of the links.
4. This is the first search result expanded to show all the model numbers covered under the UL label number.
